Sixth Form Host Macmillan Coffee Morning

Macmillan Coffee Morning – Friday 30 September 2016

Today we hosted our annual coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Nurses. We have hosted this for more than 16 years and raised in excess of £16,000. Students and staff baked and sold cakes and biscuits.

8YG also supported the event by making and decorating cupcakes and designing posters to advertise the event.

We also raffled homemade bread, jam and other prizes in aid of this charity which has supported so many students and staff personally.

Macmillan give advice and counselling. They provide leaflets which explain Cancer in a non-scary way.

Every cake shared helps to support people affected by cancer.

£27.00 could pay for a Macmillan nurse to spend an hour with someone who has just been told they have cancer.

£62.00 could help someone with cancer claim the benefits they are entitled to.

£175.00 could enable a person living with cancer to heat their home when they really need to.

Together we can make sure that no one faces cancer alone.
